Well, there is nothing like a little heresy to lighten up a gray day. Here's a site that specializes in anti-religious effluvia, some of it hilarious.

If you mess around on the site, you'll find all manner of alarming and confrontational material.

My mother was a firm believer that if you were hot, you could cool off by looking a a picture of a cool place. Its very hot here today, and when this picture was taken in February in western New York State, it was crisp and cold and quiet.Brrrr!

Run, do not walk (or scroll, do not tab) and get Ozomatli's new album, "Street Signs". As you may know, Ozomatli was the Aztec god of the dance, and this group of Los Angeles musicians create a truly undefinable mix of Latin and Middle Eastern rock and roll with lyrics in Spanish and Rap in English. It is all very political, high intensity party music in a style that is 21st century with deep roots in the distant past. Sorry if I sound like a critic. The photo was taken in April of this year, and is of a mask found buried beneath downtown Mexico City, which is now on display in the mind-boggling musuem of the Templo Mayor.

Now that the Bush regime is letting western governors put in for road permits in National Forests, this scene from last fall in Pike National Forest may feature logging trucks in the near future. I don't like to linger on politics in this blog, but having lived in the mountains of Colorado for 20 years, it's difficult to watch these thugs at play in these particular fields...

Here are a couple of culture-shock links from my old friend and Japan hand in Hawaii. The Japanese never fail to amaze, and these ice cream flavors will delight and disgust you. Bon apetit!

SO now we have pictures! Great. This is going to be amusing...stay tuned..
I'm back! I really lost track of time, and it's been a wild year so far. Now the summer has set in and I feel ready to blog once more. Some quick stuff: see Prince if he is coming your way. You won't see a better show ever. Also, see John Hiatt if you have the chance. He is working acoustically, and I think he's better with a band in a bar (who isn't?), but his acoustic sets are gems.By the way, get some earplugs for Prince.
