The retreat had the desired effect. I returned having emptied virtually all stress from my fevered brain. Now I have room for new. Here's a wonderful site, courtesy of Dr. J., with sad and charming apologies from all sorts of Americans to the rest of the world for what happened. Take a look.

Sorry Everybody

Happy Thanksgiving! Jane and I are going through a somewhat alarmingly good period. There is always that nagging voice wondering how long it might last. Ha! I have always liked Thanksgiving best among holidays. Excepting the Turkey cartels, no one has ever figured out how to turn it into a commercial big deal. They finally gave up and moved right from Halloween to Christmas. Who among us remembers when the first glimpse of Santa was at the very end of the Macy's Parade? And in black and white, too!

OOPS, we did it again! We elected Monkey Boy and his band of evil keepers to run the country! Oh, well. I'm looking around for that hole in the ground out of which I took my head, so I can put it back in. I'm going to a meditation retreat for a week of quiet, hoping to heal the media burns I suffered before the election. Wish me luck...
