Here's an interesting link to an article in Westword, our local alternative rag, which should shake you up a bit. The FCC has been slapping heavy fines on radio stations broadcasting "bad" words in song lyrics. This, in turn, has set off a panic attack in the industry. Stations are editing out words from lyrics that might draw fines, and I'm amazed by the examples in the article. In addition to what you would expect to be edited, words are being removed from songs which have been on the air for more than 30 years. I think it is safe to put the "K" back in Amerika.

I will vote against Bush and his thugs, but don't ask me to get behind Kerry. I find it (still, at my age) so discouraging to have to choose between two elitist, dried-up old power-mongers with not a thing on their minds save control and money. These two haven't felt any humility or gratitude in years. And forget any simple wonder at the sunlight on a leaf, or the moonlight on the water. No, its all plotting and planning and deal-making for them. These people who run our world are so unlike average folks that they should be declared a separate species. Then we could put them in zoos and circuses, but that would surely demean the current inmates of those institutions, so forget it.
